I recently purchased a bottle of Pine and Bottomland from STLKR Scents. The mountain area where I hunt in Middle Tennessee is loaded with pine trees, and since I primarily hunt on the ground, I’m also around a lot of dirt and natural earth. The Pine scent smells exactly like its name — clean, sharp pine. The Bottomland has a rich, earthy leaf smell that honestly smells like the woods bottled up.
I recently field-tested both scents together, using them as a combo. I had a steady south wind, and sure enough, I had deer come in from downwind of me and never once scented me.
I know firsthand how difficult odor control really is. As a former law enforcement K9 handler, I understand the philosophy behind scent and how sensitive animals are to human odor. STLKR Scents does a tremendous job of eliminating odor when first applied and continuing to control it throughout the hunt. Most people think humans only give off one smell, but that’s not true.
